Mitch Jefferson, PGA - Head Golf Professional

Mitch Jefferson has been in the golf profession for over 20 years and earned his Class A Membership in 2010. Mitch grew up in Newbury, NH and graduated from Proctor Academy. After graduating from Coastal Carolina University, he began his golf career as an Assistant Professional at Lake Sunapee Country Club. He then moved to the warm climate of Naples, Florida for over six years, working at facilities such as Golf Club of the Everglades and Hole-In-The-Wall Club. After moving back to New Hampshire in 2011 to be closer to family, Mitch became the First Assistant Professional at Pembroke Pines Country Club for one season before he was promoted to Head Golf Professional at Ridgewood Country Club. During Mitch’s 5 seasons at Ridgewood CC, he strived to provide excellent customer service to all Members and Guests, conducted numerous private and group lessons for adults and juniors, and executed hundreds of successful Member Tournaments and Corporate Outings. In addition, Mitch is an accomplished player in the New England PGA Section, winning the 2014 NEPGA Pro Am, 2014-15 NH Chapter Pro Lady, 2016 NH Chapter Pro Gross, and was just recently the NH Chapter Player of the Year Runner Up in 2018.
Mitch’s passion for running well organized tournaments and promoting the game of golf to players of all levels, will help to enhance the golf experience at Rochester CC for both our members and guests. Mitch and his longtime girlfriend, Marissa, live in nearby Meredith, NH. Mitch has been an amazing addition to our RCC family and we are looking forward to another great season with him on board!

Brett Smestad grew up in nearby Stratham, NH and picked up an interest in golf around the age of 10.  By 14 he began working at Portsmouth Country Club as a cart and range attendant, where he stayed for a few years through high school. Brett attended Clemson University where he acquired a degree in Professional Golf Management with a minor in Business Administration. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Denver with some college friends where he began his professional career by working at Castle Pines Golf Club, a prestigious private club in Castle Rock, CO.

After spending several years in Colorado, Brett moved back to the seacoast of New Hampshire in 2012. Since being back he spent 3 seasons as the Assistant Golf Professional at The Oaks and 2 seasons as the Assistant Golf Professional at The Ledges in York, ME. Both facilities were instrumental in honing his skills as an instructor, event coordinator, and supervisor. Additionally, Brett is an accomplished player with numerous individual and team wins in the New England PGA Section and New Hampshire PGA Chapter. His extensive knowledge of the game paired with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills makes him an easy choice as a golf instructor. We are grateful to have Brett as part of our RCC family.
